Responsable des renseignements et de l'analytique pour le marketing Position: Full-time Permanent Salary range: $80,595 - $110,000 Reporting into the Manager, Communications and Marketing the Lead, Marketing Insights & Analytics is responsible for providing actionable marketing insights on investors, business decision-makers, influencers, and key stakeholders for Invest Ontario. In particular, there will be a focus on those in the Agency’s priority sectors of life sciences, advanced manufacturing, and technology. This role will have two key functions: Develop and characterize the customer journey, in this case the investor decision-making journey, for businesses to invest in Ontario Lead marketing analytics, insights, and market research work to inform marketing strategy, content, and activities This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced planner, market researcher or analytics and insights professional who is looking to be part of building a new marketing and communications function. The Lead, Marketing Insights & Analytics will lead the insights and analytics work on behalf of the Marketing and Communications team to ensure all messaging, content and campaigns resonates with investors. They will contribute to the planning of strategic campaigns on behalf of the Agency and be required to: Provide leadership and expertise to the Marketing and Communications team for owned, earned, and paid content across social, digital, and traditional platforms, as well as providing useful and actionable insights to business development Work autonomously within the organization to make decisions and recommendations based on own research. A successful candidate will be able to influence those above them and in other teams Create and oversee measurement frameworks such as marketing dashboards to monitor marketing performance, brand recognition and message penetration to maximize effectiveness Create repository of insights – be it customer personas, trends, key messages, etc. – that can be leveraged for content or campaigns Benchmark Ontario’s brand recognition and reputation, and measure changes over time Leverage data and analytics from others and combining with own research to create market insights that directly impact marketing activities Responsible for building the customer journey for priority sectors, subsectors, or regions to identify where investors and influencers are in their consideration of Ontario, they will own audience definition, segmentation, and core messaging and validation This role may not have direct reports but will need to be able to direct others within the organization to achieve results Who you are: Education and Experience The minimum qualifications for this job are a university degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications or an equivalent combination of education and experience 7-10 years of experience in a marketing insight, market research or data analytics role within a marketing or communications team; 1-2 years leading customer journey work in a B2B or G2B environment Excellent written communication in English required, fluency in French an asset Experience running user research projects Knowledge and Skills Think creatively around project approach and problem solving to drive the greatest impact of research deliverables Ability to synthesize data/information and derive useful themes and trends within the business, to translate and articulate quantitative and qualitative findings into actionable strategies Ability to shape communications/presentations around storytelling to best engage and influence audience In-depth knowledge of communication and marketing techniques, theories, and principles to develop strategies and insights Experience in deployment of digital advertising (programmatic or paid social) is a plus Comfortable using both qualitative and quantitative data and communicating that data in an easy-to-understand manner Ability to understand the voice and perspectives of multiple personas The ability to work with a level of autonomy and meet deliverables and timelines Project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deliver creative and strategic work on time Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organization Technical proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and work-specific software and databases (e.g., Qualtrics, SSPS, PowerBI and Confirmit) Behaviours The ideal candidate will have a strong strategic orientation, excellent communication skills, and superior analytical skills, demonstrated capability to deliver work and provide positive leadership in a fast-paced, multi-project team-oriented environment They will also need to be a strong collaborator and influencer working with partners in highly matrixed or complex environments Strong sense of individual accountability and motivation An experimentation mindset and an ability to act and adapt based on what the data is telling you Invest Ontario is committed to employment equity and diversity in the workplace and welcomes applications from women, members of racialized groups / visible minorities, Indigenous people, persons with disabilities, persons with any sexual orientation, and persons of any gender identity or gender expression.
